Mild earthquake hits western Maharashtra (Lead)

- Mumbai, Nov 14 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter Scale jolted western Maharashtra, coastal Konkan and Mumbai Saturday evening. There are no reports of any damages or casualties, an official said.
The earthquake was recorded at 6.34 p.m. with the epicentre in Koyna region of western Maharashtra, an official of the Mumbai Seismological Centre said.
Coming three days after Cyclone Phyan wreaked havoc in large areas of the Konkan region, the earthquake made people run out of their homes in several areas of Satara and Kolhapur towns.
The tremors were also felt in many parts of Pune district and even in Belgaum in north Karnataka.
