Massive Earthquake measuring 6.9 Richter scale Southeast of the Loyalty Islands

An earthquake occurred at Southeast of the Loyalty Islands Monday, January 19, 2009 at 03:35:24 UTC ( Coordinated Universal Time ) and Monday, January 19, 2009 at 02:35:24 PM at epicenter local time reported by the U.S. Geological Survey, which was 130 km (80 miles) WSW of Ile Hunter, Loyalty Isl., New Caledonia 335 km (210 miles) ESE of Tadine, Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia, 455 km (285 miles) E of NOUMEA, New Caledonia, 1605 km (1000 miles) NNW of Auckland, New Zealand with the location of 22.721°S, 170.855°E and depth of 52.2 km (32.4 miles).
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has warned the locals that tsunamis are possible, in areas that have experienced strong ground shaking.
