Man held with lion skin in Chhattisgarh
September 28th, 2008 - 10:55 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Sep 28 (IANS) A suspected member of an inter-state gang of poachers has been arrested with a lion’s skin in Chhattisgarh, police said Sunday.Atmaram was nabbed on a tip off late Saturday when he was waiting for a customer to sell the skin, which is valued at Rs.300,000 in the international market, police said. The skin was stuffed in a bag.
He was arrested in Dudhwa forested locality in Kanker district, some 220 km south of here.
Police believe the youth is a member of an inter-state gang of poachers active in the district for about three years.
