Kozhikode (Kerala), March 17 (IANS) A leopard that fell into an unused well while chasing a dog in Kerala was rescued Monday by forest and fire department personnel. The leopard was tranquillised before it was taken out of the well at Meppadi in Wayanad district.

“The leopard is around eight years old and is healthy. It suffered no injuries in the fall,” said veterinarian Arun Zacharia.

“The leopard was chasing a dog while it fell into the well. The dog was also inside the well. People pulled out the dog using a bucket,” said a forest official.
