Leopard cub found dead in Uttar Pradesh
February 13th, 2011 - 10:29 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Feb 13 (IANS) A six-month old leopard cub was found dead Sunday in a wildlife reserve in Uttar Pradesh, a forest official said. The incident happened in Katarniya Ghat Wildlife Reserve near the Dudhwa National Park about 150 km from here.
According to District Forest Officer R.K. Singh, “the cub was found floating in the canal and it appears to be dead for at least three days.
“Since the claws and skin of the animal were intact, the killing could not have been the handiwork of poachers, who usually kill the wildcat for its claws and skin,” he said.
