Mexico City, Oct.17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With every passing minute Hurricane Rick is gaining in strength and turning into an even more dangerous category 4 storm. The National Hurricane Center of USA has termed Hurricane Rick as “extremely dangerous”. Experts in the field have also explicitly mentioned that the hurricane is scheduled to cause significant damage when it hits the Baja California Peninsula. Rick is scheduled to strike the Peninsula within the next five days.
Rick would cause more havoc if it transforms itself into an even more dangerous category 5 storm; the chances of which are quite ripe according to the National Hurricane Center and its advisory report. According to latest reports Rick is already showing wind-speed of around 145 mph (miles per hour). If it transforms into a category 5 storm then the wind-speed would increase to 155 mph. It is truly amazing to think that the Rick was just a category 1 storm roughly two days ago; it has transformed into a category 4 storm within a very short span of time, mere 36 hours. The only saving grace at this point of time could be the National Hurricane Center’s prediction that Rick might see its strength ebbing significantly before it ultimately lashes onto the Baja California Peninsula area.
Hurricane Rick had originated in Southern Mexico. The National Hurricane Center has also warned the residents and has advised them to “monitor” Rick’s path and updates on its movement. US has seen major tropical storms and ensuing disaster over a period of the last few months and Rick is just the latest addition to that list. Tropical storm Patricia and hurricane Jimena are two of the latest ones to have grabbed headlines recently.
