March 16th, 2010 - 8:15 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, March 16 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Tuesday asked the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to explain how a pig shelter is operating in the green belt area in east Delhi.
A division bench of acting Chief Justice Madan B.Lokur and Justice Mukta Gupta asked the DDA to file a detailed affidavit, by April 14, and also asked the civic agency to explore possibilities of relocating the pigs from the Trilokpuri area.
The court was hearing a public interest petition filed by Uttar Pradesh Bihar Nagrik Parishad, which complained that the pig shelter caused a nuisance and meant unhygienic conditions in the residential area.
