Hot, sunny Sunday in Delhi, rains expected Monday (Lead)

New Delhi, May 20 (IANS) The week ended on a hot note for Delhi residents Sunday as the skies remained clear and the maximum temperature settled two notches above average at 41.4 degrees Celsius. The met office has forecast rains Monday.

Sunday’s minimum temperature was a notch below average at 25.4 degrees Celsius while the humidity levels wavered between a high of 34 and a low of 27 percent.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the skies will remain partly cloudy Monday and there will dust storms and rains towards the evening.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 43 and 27 degrees Celsius.

Saturday’s maximum temperature was a notch above average at40.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 29 degrees Celsius, three notches above average for this time of the year.
