Hot, rainless day in Delhi, showers expected Sunday (Lead)

New Delhi, Aug 4 (IANS) It was a cloudy, hot day in Delhi Saturday as rains stayed away from the city again. The met office has forecast rains Sunday.

“The skies will be cloudy and some parts of the city will get rains tomorrow (Sunday),” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 34 and 27 degrees Celsius, added the official.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s maximum and minimum temperatures were respectively 34.3 and 27.5 degrees, both a notch above the average.

The humidity levels were recorded at a high of 87 and a low of 65 percent.

Friday’s maximum temperature shot up to three notches above normal at 36.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled two notches above average at 28.2 degrees.
