Hot morning for Delhi, thunderstorm likely

New Delhi, May 26 (IANS) Delhiites woke up to another bright, hot morning Thursday, with the minimum temperature at 27.4 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season. The weather office has forecast thunderstorm and light rain over the next 24 hours.

“The sky will become partly cloudy towards evening, which will be accompanied by thunderstorm and light rain in some parts of the city in the next 24 hours,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The mercury is expected to touch 40 degrees Celsius Thursday.

The capital witnessed strong gusts of wind late Wednesday night, which was caused by north westerly winds, the official added.
