Hot day in Delhi, thundershowers likely (Lead)

New Delhi, May 25 (IANS) After a hot and dusty day Wednesday in the capital, the met department forecast some respite in the form of thundershowers towards late evening.

The maximum temperature in the city was 41.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average and the minimum 29.2 degrees, three notches above average.

Humidity stood at 41 percent.

“There is likelihood of dust storm or thundershowers accompanied by squall in some parts of Delhi,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Maximum and minimum temperatures Thursday are expected to be around 40 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively, according to the official.
