Himachal gets reprieve from cold
February 11th, 2010 - 11:19 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Shimla, Feb 11 (AINS) Himachal Pradesh Thursday got reprieve from the freezing cold as there was no fresh rain or snowfall in the state.
The temperatures rose by a few notches across the state, the Met Office in Shimla said.
The state capital recorded a maximum of 14.3 degrees Celsius as compared to 10.4 degrees Celsius Wednesday. However, the minimum was a low 3.7 degrees Celsius.
Elsewhere, Sundernagar in Mandi district registered the maximum temperature at 21.2 degrees, while it was 16 degrees Celsius in Bhuntar in Kullu district. These towns Wednesday recorded a high of 17.4 degrees and 15.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest place in the state with a minimum of minus 10.4 degrees, whereas Kalpa in Kinnaur recorded a low of minus 8 degrees Celsius.
