Heavy showers lash Agra
May 19th, 2011 - 1:44 am ICT by IANSAgra, May 19 (IANS) After a hot day here Wednesday with the temperature soaring to 44 degrees Celsius, the weather changed abruptly in the evening with lightning and thundershowers.
The showers brought down the temperature. The weather office called it a local disturbance.
“All the way from Sadar Bazar to my village it was a heavy downpour, almost like monsoon rain,” Ravi Singh, a farmer of Barauli Aheer, said.
Strong dusty winds in the evening disrupted the electricity supply in many parts of Agra.
“Since morning, the power supply has been erratic, but in the evening, along with the thundershowers, lights went off for more than two hours,” Sudhir Gupta of Vijay Nagar colony said.
