Heavy rains likely in Himachal

Shimla, June 26 (IANS) The hills of Himachal Pradesh may see heavy rainfall Monday with the southwest monsoon strengthening its grip in the region, a weather official said here Sunday.
Nahan town was wettest place in the state by experiencing 154 mm of rain till Sunday morning.
“There are chances of isolated heavy rainfall in the hill state Monday,” Manmohan Singh, director of the local meteorological office, told IANS.
Shimla, which recorded a maximum of 20.2 degrees Celsius, saw 5.2 mm of rain, while Paonta Sahib town in Sirmaur district saw 75 mm of rainfall.
The monsoon reached the state June 24.
