Bhubaneswar, April 11 (IANS) Some parts of Orissa are witnessing a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius very early in the summer. Jharsuguda town in western Orissa, nearly 300 km from here, recorded the highest temperature of 40 degrees Celsius this season Thursday and Friday, an official of the Bhubaneswar meteorological office told IANS.
Many parts of the state have been witnessing over 36 degree Celsius temperatures over past few days including state capital Bhubaneswar that recorded 36.9 degrees Celsius and 38.1 degrees Celsius respectively Wednesday and Thursday, he said.
During the next 48 hours, this weather condition will continue in most parts of the state, the met official said. The state government should warn people against heat strokes, he added.
