Heat wave continues in Himachal

Shimla, March 28 (IANS) The heat wave continued across Himachal Pradesh Sunday with mercury staying above average by several notches. Una town was the hottest place in the state with the maximum at 38.2 degrees Celsius.
“Temperature was above average by four to 12 degrees Celsius in the hill state Sunday in the absence of rain,” Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told IANS.
He said Shimla saw a high of 24.5 degrees Celsius, which was 11 degrees above average for this time of the year.
While Kalpa in Kinnaur recorded the maximum temperature of 21.0 degrees Celsius, it was 30.2 degrees at Solan town, 34.1 degrees at Sundernagar in Mandi district, 31 degrees at Bhuntar in Kullu district and 31.2 degrees Celsius at Dharamsala in Kangra district.
