Global warming affecting Tibetan plateau: Dalai Lama
January 13th, 2010 - 5:07 pm ICT by IANS ( 2 comments )Bhubaneswar, Jan 13 (IANS) Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama Wednesday said global warming is a major problem that the world is facing today and the Tibetan plateau is already facing its impact.
Speaking in Chandragiri in Gajapati district of Orissa, he said. “Global warming is a major problem the world is facing today. It is certainly a major problem, we can’t overlook it.”
He said the Tibetan plateau is already facing the impact of global warming and it will have other repercussions as several rivers originate in the Tibetan region.
“The problem is much more serious than it is perceived to be. The glaciers are melting at a faster rate in the Himalayan region and deep inside Tibet. So it is very essential that we address it fast,” he added.
He also thanked the Indian government and the state government for taking care of the Tibetan people.

Who isn’t aware of the consequence of global warming? It would be more credible if His Holiness sticks to Tibetan Buddhism and asks if the world should consider the time-honoured Tibetan approach - consult Nechung Oracle and the climate gods to intervene on behalf of humanity. Dalai Lama’s statements never fail to carry a political agenda.

Anyone post climate gate who still pushes this death wish for our children of Climate Change is just a ragging and selfish ideologue using the issue to push an agenda. That agenda can be your personal distaste for yourself and your envy of others maybe or you think that at least a crisis is a good launching point to bring the world together in a cause to unite us as one in peace and love and……..
Climate Changers are the deniers now.
Climate Change has had a rough ride. First a slow decade long cooling trend,
23 years of media over-kill with the crisis hiding out only at the poles and atop far off mountains,
Al Gore being declared our ninth planet and still growing,
climate gate’s smoking icebergs of truth,
the freak show called Hoaxenhagen
and now…………………….silence. Print and TV media have dropped climate change like the stillborn of disco science it was.
Hysteria of this magnitude had to fly high all the time in order to be sustainable and when the flapping wings of media slow down at all, it’s doomed to glide back the culture world it came from.
Please resume your positions in life and face the future with courage now, not with fear of the unknown. Oh, and we can stop telling our kids the end is near as in SAVE THE PLANET.
Rachel Carson is rolling in her grave for this mass insanity. Let’s do things right for her too.
Preserve, Protect and Respect Nature, not save and rescue it from CO2 mistake.
Remember when Rachel Carson’s dream back in the smoggy 70’s was to some day have combustion only exhaust water vapor and CO2?
History will curse us all for this mass insanity, both doomer and realist alike.
