Foggy New Year’s eve in Delhi
December 31st, 2011 - 12:16 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 31 (IANS) It was a foggy Saturday morning in the capital as Delhiites geared up to welcome the New Year. The Met office has forecast a clear day with cloudy evening.
Early morning fog brought down the visibility to 50 meters at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport. Visibility in other parts of the city was 250 m at 8.30 a.m.
“A clear day is expected with the evening becoming slightly cloudy,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
The minimum temperature settled a notch below average at 6.8 degrees Celsius while the maximum is likely to hover around 22 degrees.
On Friday, at least 22 flights were cancelled and 305 were delayed due to fog, according to airport authorities.
