Dec. 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Storm, accompanied by a huge snowfall that has affected the regular life of people throughout the country did not spare the movement of air traffic too. Most of the airports, including the JFK Airport had to delay the flights for the winter weather.
As per the latest updates, JFK Airport located in Queens City had to delay the flights for almost fifteen minutes as the condition was unfavorable for the planes to take-off. Though the passengers in this airport did not face much difficulty as the flight was delayed for a short period of time, some of the airports reported delay of flights for several hours.
According to the reports of the official sources, people who had boarded flights from Philadelphia Airport had to face a severe delay. The airport authorities had to delay some flights for more than six hours, which annoyed the passengers. Similar disappointment was noticed among the passengers who had boarded flights from the Tampa Airport. The officials of this airport not only delayed the flights but also canceled 12 outbound flights. Reports stated that some of the canceled flights were scheduled for Philadelphia.
The situation was no different in the important airports of New York City and Washington DC. There were several cancellations of inbound and outbound flights in these airports, which stranded people who had booked weekend flights. Officials of the DCA Airport stated that the outbound flights of United Airlines have been called off. They also stated that the route for the inbound flights have been changed for the severe weather conditions. Almost all the airports had reported disturbance of air traffic for the winter snow storm and the situation will get normal only when the weather condition would stabilize.

your information is terribly wrong — JFK experienced delays of 3-5 hours on the non-canceled flights to Europe (check flightstats for the flights from last night to London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich,…) — and in some cases people were in the planes during that time
