Fire Blazing In Northern Utah

utahThe northern reaches of Utah on Thursday night was aglow, the horizon above awash with an angry and lilting red as more than a dozen summer fires broke out in the region. The wild fires have been set off by a lightning, all working together and the swift blowing winds across the topography only managed to heighten the squirming flames higher and far.

Near two important locations in the region, the Salt Lake International Airport and the golf course, the fire is still burning on determinedly. The Salt Lake City fire department manged to escape a major fire accident while on their way to bring the fire under control. Due to the strong current of the wind, the engine was almost engulfed in the ferocious flames but fortunately avoided it by moving away.

One of the runaway has reportedly been shut down because of the havoc stirred by the fire. However, there have been no delays in traffic flows for the shut down. Firefighters are having a tough time scrambling from one location to another, in response to more than 25 fires.
Erin Darboven, the spokesperson for the Bureau of Land Management said, “Most of the fires have been going since this morning. We have a lot of vegetation with the spring moisture and now we’re getting the ignition. We’re stretched pretty thin tonight.”

Firefighters have toiled through the whole day to bring the fire under check, including the severe one that had started at the Big Pole (which has consumed almost 22,400 acres u7nder its furious rampage). The Big Pole has been brought under control by 10%.
