Nov 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The ‘Dancing With The Stars’ finale saw the crowning of the celeb who never thought that she would make it so far in the competition. ‘Dirty Dancing’ star Jennifer Grey was in the news throughout the season as much for the perfect 30s as for her injuries that threatened to take her out of the competition any time. Pitted against the entertaining Kyle Massey and the popular Bristol Palin, it looked like the actress had a lot to fight for to win the mirror ball.

For all those who have found themselves confused about the scoring that determines the winner of ‘Dancing With The Stars’, several bloggers have explained the system after the finale was aired. The winner is adjudged based on the combination of their score given by the judges and the voting by the audience. Jennifer Grey revealed at the end of the show that she was unsure whether she would be able to perform in the competition. Though it was not revealed how many votes each of the candidates got and nor the total votes, the hosts revealed that the show generated the highest number of votes than any other season of the ‘Dancing With The Stars’.

In spite of her age and an injury right before the final, Jennifer Grey gave a stellar performance in the finale that earned her perfect scores. Though reports indicate that she was in excruciating pain, her performance never reflected it. The emotional Jennifer Grey called it a chance of a lifetime to perform on the show and said that the biggest thing that she would miss about ‘DWTS’ was the dancing. It was also the third ‘DWTS’ crown for her pro-partner Derek Hough who now holds the record of having the highest number of mirror ball trophies in ‘DWTS’.
