Dubai to carry out beach cleaning drive
February 10th, 2012 - 12:52 am ICT by IANSDubai, Feb 9 (IANS/WAM) Dubai municipality authorities will hold a massive cleaning drive at Al Mamzar beach Friday in a bid to collect garbage from the beachside and sea along the coast.
The drive will be held between 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.
According to the environmental emergency office chief Khalid Salem Sulaiteen, a group of over 150 divers will participate in the drive, for the first time in Dubai. They will take a dip into the sea hunting for waste damaging and polluting the marine environment.
“The general public of all nationalities are welcome to join us and take part in the cleanup and family activities at the beach to save our marine environment through a fun-filled drive,” he said Thursday.
