Dry day in Delhi, rains ahead (Lead)

New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) A day after incessant rains threw life out of gear in the capital, Delhiites witnessed a warm, sunny Saturday. The Met office has forecast showers for Sunday.

While Saturday’s maximum temperature was recorded at 34.1 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season, minimum temperature settled at 25.1, a notch above average.

The humidity wavered between a high of 98 and a low of 68 percent.

“Sky will be partly cloudy Sunday and there is a possibility of rains and lightning,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

While Sunday’s maximum temperature is expected to hover around 35 degrees Celsius, the minimum is likely to remain at 26 degrees.
