Drizzle in Delhi, mercury still high (Lead)

New Delhi, July 5 (IANS) After a hot and humid start to the day Tuesday, the capital enjoyed a brief spell of showers in the afternoon which considerably lowered the maximum temperature.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 37.7 degree Celsius, two notches below average.

“The minimum temperature settled at 30.3 degree Celsius, three notches above average. The total rainfall was recorded at 1.1 mm between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Humidity levels wavered between a high of 77 and a low of 54 percent.

“The skies will remain generally cloudy tomorrow (Wednesday) and there is possibility of thunder showers in some parts of the city,” the official added.

While the maximum temperature is expected to be around 35 degree Celsius, the minimum temperature may settle at 26 degrees.
