Delhiites continue to sweat, no relief ahead
June 13th, 2009 - 11:22 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, June 13 (IANS) Delhiites will get no respite from the scorching heat Saturday, with the weatherman forecasting a maximum temperature of around 42 degrees Celsius and no rain.
“The skies will remain mainly clear Saturday and the weather will be dry over the region with no rain,” an official at the meteorological office at Safdarjung here told IANS.
While the maximum temperature recorded Friday was 41.8 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature stood at 27 degrees Celsius. The temperature is likely to be the same Saturday. The humidity was recorded to be 56 percent.
The capital had received 0.1 mm rainfall early in the week, bringing down the average day temperature to 33.4 degrees Celsius, eight notches below the normal for this time of year.
