Delhi to swelter at 43 degrees
May 24th, 2010 - 12:01 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 24 (IANS) People in the capital continued to swelter in the oppressive heat as met officials predicted a hot and humid Monday with the day temperature likely to be at 43 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature settled at 30.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above the normal for this time of the year.
“Skies will mainly be clear and the maximum temperature will hover around 43 degrees Celsius,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to weather officials, there will be no respite from the scorching heat in next two to three days and the temperatures are only likely to increase further with no immediate sign of rain.
