Delhi to get more rains in coming days: weatherman (Lead)
July 13th, 2009 - 8:07 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, July 13 (IANS) After a pleasant start to the week with early morning showers, the met department Monday forecast more rain and thundershowers over the next few days in the capital.
“There is a possibility of more rain and thundershowers tomorrow (Tuesday) in Delhi, as in many other places over northwest India like Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh and east Rajasthan over the next three days,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
On Monday, Delhiites woke up to pleasant weather with light showers and a cool breeze bringing relief from the scorching heat.
The capital recorded 1.6 mm of rainfall overnight. However, the brief spell of showers increased the humidity level to 88 percent.
The minimum temperature recorded Monday was 28.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above average. The maximum settled one degree below the average, at 34.6 degrees Celsius.
“The showers have brought down the temperatures, but increased the humidity level. The situation will remain the same over the next few days,” the official added.
