Delhi shivers on Lohri, clear day ahead (Lead)

New Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS) It was a chilly day in the capital Friday courtesy icy winds that blew throughout the day even as the city celebrated the festival of ‘Lohri’.

The minimum and maximum temperatures settled two notches below average at 5.3 degrees Celsius and 18.7 degrees, respectively, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The humidity ranged between a high of 80 percent and low of 37 percent.

According to the IMD, Saturday morning would be foggy and chilly too but the sky will remain clear during the day.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to range between 21 and 6 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Thursday’s minimum temperature settled two notches below average at 5.3 degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature was recorded at 18.7 degrees — also two notches below normal.
