Delhi pleasant, rains predicted Tuesday (Lead)

New Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS) Delhiites experienced a pleasant day despite absence of rains Monday, a day after heavy downpour lashed parts of the city. The weatherman has predicted rains in the next 24 hours.
On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year. The minimum temperature settled at 25.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below average, the met office said.

The humidity levels oscillated between a high of 95 percent and a low of 68 percent.

“The sky will remain cloudy and thundershowers are expected in some parts of the city in the next 24 hours,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), in a forecast for Tuesday.

The met office said the maximum temperature Tuesday will be 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum is expected to settle at 25 degrees.
