Delhi had monsoon rainfall deficit in June
July 29th, 2010 - 9:47 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, July 29 (IANS) Delhi recorded 81 percent deficit rainfall during June, minister of Earth Sciences Prithviraj Chavan said Thursday.
Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, Chavan said that 14 out of 35 states experienced deficient rainfall in June. The country witnessed 20 percent deficient rainfall during the month.
Delhi is among the seven most deficient states. Uttar Pradesh recorded 75 percent deficit rain.
