Delhi cools under dust blanket (Lead)
June 4th, 2010 - 8:39 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 4 (IANS) Thanks to a blanket of dust, the Indian capital earned some respite from the summer heat Friday as temperature dropped.
The weather office attributed the drop to an approaching western disturbance and forecast rain and thundershowers in the next three days.
“The temperature is down as the dust haze has become a barrier for the sunlight,” an official told IANS.
The highest temperature in the city was recoded two notches below average at 39 degree Celsius. It was 2 degrees below Thursday’s 41 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature was 28.4 degree Celsius.
The sky will be partly cloudy Saturday, with the possibility of rain and thunderstorm in some areas.
