Delhi continues to face scorching heat (Lead)

New Delhi, June 9 (IANS) Delhiites Tuesday continued to suffer the scorching heat with maximum temperature reaching close to the 42 degrees Celsius mark.
“The maximum temperature recorded Tuesday was 41.6 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature was 24.6 degree Celsius — three degrees below average. The humidity level was recorded at 57 percent,” said a meteorological department official.

The weather office has predicted a mainly clear sky in the next 24 hours.

“No rain is expected for the next 24 hours. The maximum temperature for Wednesday is expected to hover around 42 degrees Celsius and minimum is expected to remain around 27 degrees Celsius,” the official added.
