As a initiative to help the organisers and the athletes, the IMD is planning to provide forecast venue and region-specific weather prediction.
“We are planning to come up with venue-specific forecasts which will be helpful for the athletes and the organisers. The weather office will start this sometime next week,” an IMD official told IANS.
“With incessant rains lashing the capital, the venue-specific weather prediction will help the organisers to reschedule events,” the official said.
The weather office will provide predictions on temperature, humidity, wind factor and heat index.
