Arkansas, Jan 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a mysterious development that has shocked the residents of Arkansas in USA, thousands of dead fish were found floating on a stretch along the Arkansas River. In another strange incident several thousand blackbirds rained from the sky in the state’s Beebe region which also made the residents awestruck. Such incidents on New Year’s eve were not seen as a positive development by the residents and a section of soothsayers also tried to link the incidents with the hint of doomsday. As per the information given by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, nearly 100000 drum fish corpses were found in Arkansas river. The scientists and animal experts are still trying to find the answer that is haunting the residents of the state as to what led to the death of the fish and red winged blackbirds.
The theories that are doing the round are lightning and fireworks that could have led to the death of thee birds. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission officials have said that a single species of fish was affected by this incident which proves they were suffering from some ailment. The corpses of the dead birds will be sent to the National Wildlife Health Center lab in Wisconsin’s Madison and state Livestock and Poultry Commission lab for extensive testing. The Beebe residents were taken aback when the blackbirds started dropping dead from the sky.
While mass fish death is not unprecedented the magnitude of the Arkansas event is what the experts are worried about. They do not think the cause of the bird and fish death is the same.
