Cyclone Phyan: Mumbai Cyclone Update

cycloneMumbai, Nov.11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) People in Mumbai as well as in the some other coastal regions are busy checking the Mumbai Cyclone Update on Wednesday afternoon. Weather observatories in Mumbai have warned people not to go near the beach areas as Cyclone Phyan can strike the place anytime between 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. IST. It is going to be a strong cyclone and observatories have issued 0 range alert so that people can understand the severity of the cyclone and stay at safe places.

Cyclone Phyan is approaching Mumbai at an extremely high speed and can cause severe damages to the western coast region. It has been stated by the Indian Meteorological Department that the cyclone, which is not far from Goa, will hit several other Indian states apart from Mumbai. Goa, Karnataka, Northern Maharashtra and Southern Gujarat will also get affected by this cyclone. If the cyclone gathers further intensity, it can hit places between Dahanu and Mahuva on November 12.

The Cyclone has brought rainfall to Konkan region, parts of Goa and Mumbai and the cyclone can deteriorate the situation further. Weather forecast stated that in the coming twenty-four hours, coastal Karnataka can receive heavy shower as a result of this cyclone. It has been stated that the isolated places will receive more shower. As the weather conditions are deteriorating, authorities have asked the fishermen not to venture into the sea as the sea conditions can become rough for this approaching cyclone. Officials of the Coast Guard department also stated sea waves can rise from 5 to 10 meters for this cyclone and cause havoc along the shoreline.
