Cool day for Delhi, more rain ahead (Lead)

New Delhi, June 28 (IANS) It was a cool Tuesday for Delhi as showers brought the temperature down in the city. More rain has been forecast in the coming days.

With 8.8mm of rainfall recorded till 8.30 in the morning and 0.8mm during the day, the maximum temperature came down to 34 degree Celsius, four notches below what is the average for this time of the season.

The minimum temperature was also two notches below average at 26.4 degree Celsius.

An India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said similar weather conditions will be witnessed on Wednesday and more rainfall is expected in the coming days.

“The sky will remain generally cloudy, with rain and thundershowers expected,” the official said.

“The maximum temperature will be around 35 degrees while the minimum will be around 27 degree Celsius,” the official said.
