Cold wave continues to hit life in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Jan 26 (IANS) Cold wave continued to sweep parts of Orissa Tuesday with Phulbani town in Kandhamal district recording a minimum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, the lowest for the day in the state, an official said.
The minimum temperature rose slightly over north coastal belt of Orissa but changed little over rest of the state, an official of Bhubaneswar meteorological centre told IANS.

The places which recorded minimum temperature of 10 to 12 degrees Celsius included Angul, Bhabanipatna and Talcher.

Baripada and Sundergarh have recorded 10.2 and 11.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

The minimum temperature recorded at coastal towns of Puri, Gopalpur and Paradip were 16.8, 15.5 and 14.5 degrees Celsius respectively. The low was 14.3 degrees Celsius at state capital Bhubaneswar.

The official said the cold wave would continue over some parts of interior Orissa during the next two days.
