Cold wave continues in Himachal
December 31st, 2009 - 8:22 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Shimla, Dec 31 (IANS) Higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh Thursday continued to remain under sub-zero temperatures while cold winds lashed lower and mid-hills, according to the weatherman. However, there was no fresh rain or snow.
Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti district, was the coldest place with minimum temperature of minus 10.3 degrees Celsius, an official release of the Met office said.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw night temperature of minus 5.2 degrees Celsius, while it was minus 1.4 degrees Celsius at Sundernagar in Mandi district and minus 1 degree Celsius at Bhuntar in Kullu district.
Shimla recorded a minimum of 2.8 degrees Celsius while the maximum was 12.9 degrees Celsius.
The city witnessed a long sunny day, but chilly winds in the morning and late evening kept the people indoors.
The Met office predicted dry weather Friday.
