Cloudy morning in Delhi, thundershowers expected

New Delhi, Feb 24 (IANS) It was a cloudy and misty Thursday morning in the capital with the weather office predicting thundershowers ahead of the World Cup clash between West Indies and South Africa at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium here.Delhi recorded a minimum of 10.1 degrees Celsius — a notch below the average for this time of the season. The humidity was recorded at 89 percent.

“Skies will remain partly cloudy with possibility of rain or thundershowers later during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 24 degrees,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told IANS.

The weather office said the western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir is the reason behind the expected showers.

Delhi has so far received 42.4 mm of rainfall since the onset of the winter season.
