Cloudy morning in Delhi, rains expected
September 4th, 2010 - 11:48 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Sep 4 (IANS) Delhi saw a cool and cloudy Saturday morning, a day after heavy showers lashed the city. The met office said more rains were expected during the day.
“The skies will remain cloudy and some parts of the city are expected to get one or two spells of rainfall or thundershowers,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Delhi received 34.4 mm of rainfall from Friday morning till 8.30 a.m. Saturday, taking the total rainfall for the season to 745.2 mm, 39 percent above average.
The capital recorded a minimum temperature of 25.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above average for this time of the season. The humidity levels was recorded at 92 percent.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 33 degrees.
Traffic moved slowly in some parts of the capital while it was smooth in other parts, said a traffic police official.
Heavy rains lashed the city Friday, leading to water logging and traffic jams in several areas.
