Cloudy day in Delhi, showers likely Wednesday (Lead)

New Delhi, Nov 23 (IANS) It was a chilly day in the capital Tuesday with clouds covering the city’s skyline most of the time. The weatherman has predicted showers Wednesday.

“The skies will remain overcast and some parts of the city may witness showers. The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 23 and 15 degrees Celsius, respectively,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The maximum temperature Tuesday settled at 23.5 degrees Celsius, four notches below the average for this time of the season, and minimum was five notches above average at 14.6 degrees.

The humidity levels oscillated between a high of 96 percent and a low of 52 percent.

Going by previous years’ data, the minimum temperature is expected to dip below 10 degrees Celsius by November-end.
