Cloudy, chilly day in Delhi (Lead)

New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS) The skies remained cloudy for the major part of Sunday in the national capital, with chilly winds blowing through the day. The met office has forecast similar weather Monday with no rain in store.”The day’s maximum temperature was recorded at 18 degrees Celsius, three notches below average, while the minimum was five notches above average at 11.9 degrees Celsius,” said an official of the India Meteorological department (IMD).

“The humidity level wavered between a high of 93 and low of 68 percent,” added the official.

The cloud cover didn’t affect visibility which was 1,200 metres at 8.30 a.m, official said.

According to the IMD, Monday be dry and chilly. Dense fog is expected in the morning accompanied by winds.

“The maximum and minimum temperature ares expected to hover round 18 and 8 degrees Celsius, respectively,” said the official
