July 10th, 2010 - 9:27 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 10 (IANS) A cleanliness drive — Let’s do it Delhi — was launched Saturday by the capital’s Health Minister Kiran Walia, who asked people to take a pledge to make the city clean and green.
“We ourselves have to take the initiative and also ask others to change their habits and perspective,” she said after launching the drive in south Delhi.
Around five tonnes of garbage was removed by volunteers in south Delhi, a government release said.
The drive saw the participation of corporate houses like Genpact, ICICI, Wipro and Jindal Steel, besides resident welfare associations.
