China braces for heavy rains

Beijing, May 20 (IANS) Heavy rains will lash the western and southern regions of China over the next two days, the meteorological authority said Sunday.
Heavy rains, hail and high winds are forecast to hit parts of Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Sichuan and Guizhou provinces, the National Meteorological Centre said.
Temperatures in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and parts of northeast China will drop by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius over the next two days, Xinhua reported.
