Chilly morning, temperature dips in Delhi
December 15th, 2011 - 12:18 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 15 (IANS) Delhiites Thursday woke up to a chilly and foggy morning as the minimum temperature fell to 5.9 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal for this time of the season. The Met office has forecast a clear day ahead.
“Snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and the changing wind pattern over northwest India have brought down the temperature in Delhi,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told IANS.
“The minimum and maximum temperatures will dip further. Early mornings and late evenings will be chilly. But afternoon will be warm for the next few days,” the official said.
The maximum temperature Thursday is likely to hover around 22 degrees. The humidity level in the morning stood at 73 percent.
On Wednesday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 22.4 degrees and 6.4 degrees respectively.
