Chandigarh, Punjab get rain
January 15th, 2012 - 5:32 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Chandigarh, Jan 15 (IANS) Chandigarh and its surrounding areas experienced moderate rainfall in the past 12 hours till Sunday morning.
Met officials here said that 1.4 mm of rain was recorded till 8.30 a.m. Sunday. The union territory got more rainfall later in the day.
The maximum and minimum temperature in the city was 19 and 6.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
Some parts of Punjab also experienced rain in the last 12-24 hours. These included the cities of Patiala, Ludhiana and Amritsar.
Amritsar, which had been shivering under sub-zero temperatures in the last few days, recorded a high and low of 18.5 and 6.6 degrees respectively.
In Haryana, Narnaul was the coldest with a low of 4.2 degrees.
Met officials here said that the temperatures in the last 24 hours were warmer compared to the last one week.
They added that the rainfall activity would lessen in the next 24 hours.
