Chandigarh autos to go green (Lead)

Transport Secretary Ram Niwas said auto-rickshaw drivers will be provided liberal assistance from the Delhi Financial Corp and other institutions to buy autos plying on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
He said permission had been granted for 2,820 LPG auto-rickshaws so far, of which 1,900 were already plying on the roads.
“No non-LPG auto-rickshaw will be allowed to enter Chandigarh after March 31,” he said.
