Britain braces for cold again

London, March 3 (IANS) After enjoying balmy weather in late February, Britain is set to be plunged into freezing temperatures this weekend.

The temperatures could hit as low as minus five degrees centigrade and even bring snow to some areas, the Daily Mail reported Saturday.

A cold front from Canada will see temperatures struggle to get above freezing in the daytime and go below that overnight.

Snow, sleet and winds are predicted around Britain, with Scotland, the North, Wales, central and southern England all likely to be affected.

The cold snap is expected to last well into next week with no sign of warmer weather until Wednesday at the earliest.
