Brazil to build observatory to study climate change

Sao Paulo, Feb 14 (IANS/EFE) Brazil will build an observatory in the Amazon region to study the effects of global warming.
The project will be initiated in collaboration with Germany.

The 1,049-foot tower in the Uatuma reserve will begin operation in 2011.

Four more towers, about 260-feet high each, will be built around the main tower.

Germany’s Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, Brazilian National Amazon Research Institute and the University of the Amazon will collaborate in the project.
