Oil Leak Tube Gulf Coast, May 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) BP’s struggle to fix the oil leak continues. The giant oil company were on Friday trying to move a 6 inch tube into the leaking pipe to try and siphon some of the oil, that is gushing into the sea at a rate of 210,000 gallons a day.

The spill that was brought about by the a drilling rig explosion on April 20 has caused BP millions of dollars, and so far it seems none of the experiments BP has used to get the leak sealed have succeeded. Several individuals and organizations that were affected by the spill have sued BP.

The latest attempt involve robots that are trying to fix the 6 inch tube into the 21 inch pipe that has been ruptured by the explosion that also claimed 11 lives. If this attempt fails, BP is lining up a smaller box that would be used to siphon the leaked oil out of the Gulf. BP had also tried to use a giant box to contain the leak, but that didn’t work either.

BP’s future plans for the containment of the leak include an interesting idea of shooting debris of all sorts under high pressure into the sea bed to block the gushing oil.
